Location: Leicestershire, East Midlands
Duration: Permanent
Salary: Up to GBP26'000 per annum, subject to experience
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm

Position Overview:

Our client are an international manufacturing business with strong links related to the building products industry across the UK.

Applicants are invited from a wide range of industry background, as specific product training will be provided.

We are seeking a CAD Designer to work within a small CAD & Estimating team to ensure they provide a first class drawing service to their internal and external customers. Experience of estimating jobs would also be an advantage but certainly not essential as training will and can be provided.

This is a 'hands on' role and will involve working with customers and internal stakeholders, including internal and external sales, the design and technical team and our production and operations teams. The job is based in Leicestershire but there will be the need for occasional travel in the UK.

Job description:

* Measurement and estimating of special masonry and prefabricated components.
* Producing accurate 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD of products and complex masonry.
* Prioritise and managing workload with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
* Work with our internal stakeholders including sales, design / technical and operations.
* Producing a high standard of accurate work is paramount to this position.
* Answering queries on products and detailing to both internal and external customers.


* Minimum HNC in construction, engineering or similar sector, preferably good construction related degree, but not essential
* City and Guilds Certificate in AutoCAD
* Estimating / Quantity Surveying experience working with internal and external customers.
* Practical experience of using AutoCAD.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Professional and proactive.
* Competent with common Microsoft Office programmes such as Excel.
* An understanding of Autodesk Revit and BIM but not essential
* Full clean driving licence.
