BOARDING HOUSE NURSE - LETCHWORTH HERTS
12 Hours per week - competitive rate of pay

Set in the midst of Letchworth Garden City, our client has been providing a first class education for girls for over 75 years, blending traditional values and a modern vision. The school provides day time weekday education for girls aged 3 - 18 and boarding facilities and care for older girls.

A vacancy has arisen for a Boarding House Nurse for an immediate start. A suitably experienced candidate is therefore required to be responsible for the provision of the healthcare needs, pastoral care of the 330 pupils 12 hours per week. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic experienced and flexible individual to join their dedicated and friendly professional team. Main Duties and Responsibilities

??Attend Boarders who are reported by the Boarding Staff as ill or with medical concerns;
??Provide a consultation facility for Boarders;
??Advise the Head of Boarding on all medical and health matters and concerns;
??Ensure the Boarders' medical files are kept up to date and confidentiality is upheld;
??Record medical information for each Boarder on ISAMS
??Keep a check on the Boarders' personal medication and correct storage;
??Complete a weekly audit of 'over the counter' medicines stored in the Boarding Office medical cabinet;
??Liaise with the Boarding Staff and the Medical Administrator about Boarders who may be ill or receiving treatment;
??Build professional and trusting relationships with Boarders by making contact with each Boarder on a weekly basis;
??Carry out checks on all Boarders at the beginning of each term regarding weight, height and BMI measurements;
??Supervise the arrangements for Boarders who are deemed 'Gillick Competent' to self-medicate;
??At all times to be aware of, and work to the National Minimum Standards for Boarding
