The Accounts Assistant Opportunity:

Reporting to the Financial Controller the Accounts Assistant will be a supportive member of the team working collaboratively with others, hold at least 5 year's experience in this role, and will be expected to carry out, as required, the following:

Principle Responsibilities/Duties

+ Accurately extract invoice information, from company specific database, to send to customers in requested format
+ Reconcile sales between database and accounts software
+ Collate receipts, and reconcile credit card and petty cash receipts and accounts
+ Accurately record and reconcile bank transactions for multiple accounts
+ Reconcile multiple balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
+ Analyse purchase invoices across multiple nominal codes and departments
+ Receive and process employee expense claims
+ Maintain fixed asset register
+ Check financial transactions for accuracy
+ Communicate with customers and suppliers to resolve invoice queries
+ Assist in the preparation of the management accounts
+ Other ad-hoc accounts department tasks as required

Key Skills Required

+ Ideally hold or working towards AAT certificate or related accountancy qualification
+ Excellent inter-personal skills
+ Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
+ Keen attention to detail
+ An analytical mind
+ Ability to work to deadlines
+ Sage 50 accounts experience
+ Team player with a willingness to assist and learn from other colleagues
