Remedy Education's Client is looking for an experienced and confident Physical Education Teacher This role is a position where the member of staff will be required to teach a KS3-KS5.

Particular Responsibilities:

To complete the tasks of the classroom teacher as defined by the National Standards.
To work with the Head of Department to ensure students are taught to the highest standard.
To undertake the duties of form tutor as directed by the Head of Year and appropriate managers.
To be aware of the current research on teacher effectiveness and professional qualities (e.g. as identified in the Hay McBer research).
To be responsible for personal professional development according to the Staff Development and Inset Policy, and the Appraisal Policy.
The job description will be reviewed at the end of the academic year or earlier if necessary. In addition it may be amended at any time after consultation with you.

Essential Qualifications:-

Qualified Teacher Status
A good honours degree in Physical Education or a related subject
Experience of teaching Physical Education in a secondary school setting to GCSE level

Desirable:-

Ability to teach A-Level
Evidence of further study in Physical Education or a related subject

Knowledge and Understanding

A good up to date working knowledge and understanding of a range of teaching and learning and behaviour management strategies.
An understanding of the Mathematics curriculum and assessment arrangements.
An understanding of the range of approaches that can be used for assessment.
An understanding of how literacy, Numeracy and ICT can be used to support teaching.
An understanding of how to personalise provision to meet the learning needs of the full range of students.
An awareness of current legal requirements regarding the safeguarding of children.
Professional Skills

Be able to plan and teach challenging and well organised lessons.
Be able to use a range of teaching strategies and resources.
Be able to provide opportunities for students to develop literacy, Numeracy and ICT skills.
An ability to provide constructive feedback to students on how to improve their attainment.
The ability to implement a clear framework for classroom discipline.
The desire to work as a team member.
In addition to candidates' ability to perform the duties of the post, the interview will also explore issues relating to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children including:

motivation to work with children and young people;
ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with children and young people;
emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours; and,
attitudes to use of authority and maintaining discipline
