Group Reporting Accountant
Robert Half Finance and Accounting are working with a Global Retail Business with an instantly recognisable brand to recruit a Group Reporting Accountant. This position is reporting directly into the Financial Controller and would suit an ambitious and technically astute chartered accountant.
As Group Reporting Accountant you would play a key role in supporting the Group Reporting team in delivering management, statutory and regulatory information to a high standard in a timely fashion.
As part of the Controllership department, the Group Reporting function is responsible for:
- The provision of consolidated business management information (financial and non-financial) used for internal and external reporting, and which is used for monitoring performance and making appropriate business decisions together with governance over Business submission of information;
- Providing the centre of excellence for the Group, ensuring all reporting conforms with applicable accounting standards (US GAAP), and technical solutions are reached with regards to the commerciality of the issue; and
- The maintenance and development of the consolidation system (Cognos Controller) to ensure it is fit-for-purpose to meet these business management information reporting requirements. Cognos Controller is used across the business as the central consolidation and reporting tool. It forms a key part of the Monthly Reporting, Annual Reporting, Forecasting and Budgeting processes delivering reliable information on a timely basis.
Deadlines each month are tight and flexibility is required with certain processes being run out of normal working hours. The management information provided by the function is relied upon by a wide range of key stakeholders, and as such the accuracy, timeliness and presentation of this information is critical.
The successful Group Reporting Accountant is likely to hold four to five years post qualification experience (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) and must have a strong group consolidations background, it is essential this individual is a US GAAP expert.
The successful candidate would be working in a complex, changeable environment so should be adaptable and flexible with changing priorities but capable of challenging in a constructive manner. As part of a large team you should be self-motivated, diligent, thorough and flexible.
This position provides exposure the board, group FD and other senior management and thus has a track record of providing a platform to further roles within the organisation, it has typically lead to progress within a two to three year period.

Salary & Benefits
