Role: We are currently recruiting an Occupational Therapist (OT) to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Location: Victoria House, Barton Street, Darlington, County Durham, DL1 2LN
Salary/Benefits: GBP22,000, pension scheme, free staff meals, training and development opportunities.

Job Role
You will complete assessments which inform the planning and facilitation of therapeutic interventions appropriate to the client`s needs, choices and interests. You will be supported by a Senior Occupational Therapist and a Therapy Coordinator (TC) who will assist you in the day to day duties and running of the department including therapeutic activity. The OT Clinical Lead will support you to undertake theoretical practice supported by an occupational science philosophy. There will also be an expectation to manage a client`s transitional phrase from the unit into a variety of community based settings. There will also be opportunity to create external vocational links and develop projects.

Candidate Profile
The successful candidate for this role will have a degree or a postgraduate diploma in Occupational Therapy and be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). We will also consider applications from those near to completing a relevant course and obtaining HCPC registration who have a desire to develop their career pathway in Personality Disorder services and can start in an OT Assistant role.
An understanding of the Occupational Therapy process and interventions is essential along with enthusiasm and a desire to develop skills and knowledge. Any relevant experience working in an OT team or with a similar client group is advantageous.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, resilient and forward thinking occupational therapist to join our team. Above all, you will be someone with exceptional communication skills along with a genuine desire to help others.

Specific Requirements
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and we are committed to safeguarding and protecting the people within our care. Therefore, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and an offer of employment will be subject to successful clearance.
