Optima Plus Recruitment are exclusively representing a growing management services business in the Stoke on Trent area with the recruitment of a Financial Controller. Working closely with the Senior Management Team you will be responsible for providing all aspects of robust financial control for this complex structure of companies. It is a pivotal role to support the development/rapid growth of the business; which will include support for the financial structuring and forecasting, which is critical to the expansion of the business. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Ability to lead and support a finance team (currently 3 Management Accountants)Monthly and quarterly reporting to strict deadlines for a number of companiesPreparation and review of papers/reports for investors and Board membersPreparation of month end management accounts for a number of companies; including analysis of variances to budget and reconciliation of all balance sheet accountsSuggest/implement improvements to systems/processes/reporting, including KPIsTight management of working capitalEnsure tight controls over the approval and processing of all payments, including payments for the project companies requiring project board approvalManagement of drawdown against loan facilities for projectsPreparation of annual budgets and development of robust forecasts for P&L, Balance sheet and cashflowGood working knowledge of the various company tax requirements (including Corp tax/VAT/PAYE) and ability to work with external advisers on more complex technical issuesPreparation of statutory accounts for the Group of companies as well as project companies Liaison with all auditors; both for statutory audits and auditors from investor/project companiesLiaison with other advisorsAdhoc financial analysisDevelopment/improvement to processes and production of Finance ManualAd hoc projects This is a truly fantastic opportunity in a business that I as a recruiter hold in the highest regard.
