Do you have a keen interest in understanding business, it's contracts and identifying opportunities for improvements?REED is delighted to be working in partnership with a highly innovative resource management company based in North Bristol who are seeking a Senior Contract Accountant to join their business.As a senior contract accountant you will be responsible for the profit and loss of a portfolio of clients/contracts including accurately and timely reporting performance to Gross Profit level. The contract accountant will ensure that all revenue is recognised and reported in line with Group revenue recognition policy and will maintain ultimate responsibility of the accuracy of the purchase accruals for their portfolio. You will also be responsible for the management of the contract accountants. This will include the delegation of duties to ensure the accurate reporting of contracts for which they are responsible.Duties will include but not be limited to:- Management of one to two contract accountants, including the allocation of workload and contracts to manage- Ensuring the accuracy of the gross profit reporting by the contract accountants- Reviewing the work performed by the contract accountants against objectives with the management accountant- Ensuring the management of contract balance sheet items, namely accrued income and debt, is complete and accountant- Assist the contract account with their professional development and understanding of all elements of the roleManagement of Contracts:- Manage the Profit and Loss for a portfolio of contracts/clients through thourough, regular, accurate and comprehensive reviews of performance on a monthly basis. Including a review of revenue and costs- Raise invoices for client portfolio where they fall outside of the routine scheduled and adhoc billing process- Liaising with Billing team to ensure scheduled work billed as required- Ensuring WIP and PO's managed and reported accuratelyProvision of accurate and timely management information:- Month end reporting and commentary- Reconciling key elements of the balance sheet at month end- Assisting the management accountant in the production of key reporting and statutory requirementsIn order to be successful with this role you will need to be:- Part qualified or studying (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) or QBE- Keen interest in understanding business, it's contracts and identifying opportunities for improvements- IT literate with a strong knowledge of MS Excel- Good written, verbal and presentational skills- High levels of accuracy, attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines- The ability to manage a small team, as well as own workload- Proven ability to prioritise workloads- Previous experience within a business partnering role would be adventagousIf you think that this role could be of any interest to you then please do either apply online or email me on Specialist Recruitment Limited is an employment agency and employment business
