We are currently looking for a reliable and motivated person to join our professional team as a Team Leader (Social Care) at our TouchBase day centre in Barnet, London. This opportunity is to work 37.5 hours per week on a permanent basis.

As a Team Leader you will supervise team members as well as supporting people with a range of hearing and / or sight difficulties that may also have complex needs and learning disabilities.

You will also provide varying levels of support with personal care tasks. You will work alongside your fellow Team Leader colleagues to provide guidance and leading of sessions, and coordinate the timetabling of the sessions the centre runs on a daily basis.

About the role

The Team leader will need to manage the day to day running of a responsive innovative and high quality service for people sensory impairments and complex needs. Special attention will be paid to the creation of a continuous learning environment that will seek to maximise the potential of each person.

Skills and abilities

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate willingness to participate in training and development. You will need to communicate in a variety of different methods and be prepared to deal with challenging situations. You will also be expected to work on your own initiative and show patience and understanding.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of motivating others including carrying out supervision meetings. You will have experience of working with adults with disabilities, monitoring the care provided and identifying and resolving issues arising from the 'day to day' operation.

It is desirable but not essential that you hold a valid UK drivers licence to support users on day trips and community activities.
