Sessional Lecturer in English and Maths Bank Staff

Location: Langley

Closing Date: 12:00, 01 June 2017

Interview Date: TBC

Over recent years English and maths has been a constant area of growth and expansion. This is largely due to conditionality of funding rules coupled with the government's education strategy that all 16-19 year old learners without a C grade in English and maths need to continue to work towards achieving these qualifications. We have also seen a growth in our adult provision with a threefold increase in the number of adults wishing to study towards GCSE qualifications.

Subsequently, we are looking for staff who would be interested in teaching English and maths to 16-19 year olds cross college and/or adults. We deliver primarily, GCSE English language and GCSE maths although there may be some delivery of Functional Skills in both subjects.

Therefore, if you have always wanted to make a real difference and think that you can:

?? Motivate and engage learners

?? Reinforce links between English and maths and working life

?? Make credible links to learner's vocational area of study

?? Support learners to build confidence and develop skills

Then we need to hear from you. Contracts are available for regular sessional work or occasional cover, which would provide you with an opportunity to develop relevant knowledge of English and maths curriculum. You would need to hold the following essential qualifications:

Relevant Degree and/or equivalent vocational qualification.

An endorsed teaching qualification - DTLLS or equivalent or willing to work towards.

Level 2 (GCSE A*-C) or equivalent qualification in English.

Level 2 (GCSE A*-C) or equivalent qualification in Mathematics.

To have a level 3 qualification in English or Maths or willingness to work towards within two years
