Group Systems Accountant
My client, a rapidly expanding market leader that operate across 33 countries and employ more than 20,000 people, based in Northampton are currently looking for a Group Systems Accountant to join their well established Group Finance team.
The Group Systems Accountant is a key role within the group finance team ensuring relevant reporting systems are developed and maintained to meet the needs of the business and accord with best practice.
As a key member of the group finance team responsibilities include:
Support the design, development, testing and overall implementation of changes to finance and accounts systems and processes.
Review business processes, formulating and defining the brief and scoping for new or improved systems.
Translating users and/or systems requirements into functional technical specifications.
Ensuring that there is a high-level of user adoption, ownership and governance across finance systems and processes including training, development and support of users.

Implementing Emerging Technology
Assist in the implementation of technology upgrades/enhancements
Review external IT developments for data integrity and access control management
Participates in design/brainstorming sessions due to ability to identify and develop creative solutions which resolve obstacles and barriers. Proactively identifies and participates in the implementation of more effective ways of doing the work for the function or department.
Consolidation & Reporting
Extensive knowledge in the context of preparation of consolidated financial statements. Will challenge information provided and ensure statements are presented in an appropriate format and are complete and accurate. Ability to explain reports and consolidated statements to senior executives and other bodies when required.
Understand the big picture by listening and leveraging non-verbal cues
Engage audience in interactive communication in small and large group settings and anticipate needs/questions and respond appropriately
Develop written material that is easily understood to influence; effectively respond to impromptu questions and simplify complex information to ensure understanding
Deliver presentations with confidence
Share important and useful fact-based information; simplify complex written communications and adapt style and content for all levels of the organisation
Significant experience of Group consolidation and reporting systems (Excel,Hyperion HFM, SAP BPC, MS Dynamics,Target IK. Knowledge of IBM Cognos, Controller and/or TM1 an advantage
Experience of Group reporting and complex multi-currency consolidations
Good communicator, with confidence to establish creditability with finance managers across the Group
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
