A charitable group of 18 companies, Thera is well known and respected for its Vision promoting the leadership abilities of people with a learning disability. Their Service Quality Directors take a lead in quality assurance and advocacy across the Group. Many of the 2,000 people that they support across the UK have complex support needs and our 3,000 staff provide support for them at home, in the community and for short breaks, as well as a range of specialist services helping people with their money, their housing and, for those who have their own personal budget, to employ their own staff
Position: Qualified Management Accountant
Location: Grantham, Lincolnshire (will require occasional travel to other parts of the country)
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: 39 per week

About the role:
Thera is a unique and exciting charity that provides care, support and services to people with a learning disability. The work that they do changes lives! They are looking for a qualified management accountant who shares a passion for what they do.
In recent years, they have been supporting an ever larger number of people, both as a result of organic growth and acquisition. Now a more complex organisation, they have decided to re-structure their finance and commercial teams and are looking for a qualified management accountant to provide financial management support and to business partner a number of the companies within the group
Their culture is informal and collaborative - the right candidate will need to be comfortable working in this kind of environment as well as possessing the required technical skillset. You'll be willing to get involved in the organisations charitable activities outside of normal work commitments.
To be successful, you must be able to adapt your professional skills to a charitable organisation that sees itself as different. You'll need to develop an understanding of, and empathy with, the organisation's work. Probing and reporting information without using financial jargon, you'll be skilled in "telling the story" to a range of directors and staff, which may not themselves be skilled in understanding financial and management accounts.
In particular, you'll be able to respond in an environment where financial decisions are taken with the organisation's wider charitable objectives and activities to the fore and rather than profit being the aim
The roles requires a technically competent and fully professionally qualified candidate ACCA, CIPFA, ICAEW, CGMA, who can produce numbers accurately and in a timely manner. You will have good interpersonal skills and be able to build working relationships with a diverse range of people
You also need to have the resilience to work for an organisation that operates in a competitive market and to be able to deal with the pressures which come with it
You will need to be passionate about working for Thera and be able to demonstrate an appreciation of their Vision and values.
You may have experience of the following: Management Accountant, Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant, AAT, Accounts Assistant, Finance Administrator, Bookkeeper, Finance Officer, Management Accounts, Financial Accountant, Voluntary Sector, Part Qualified Accountant, Charity, Charities, Third Sector, etc.
