Financial Controller for family run SME
Our client is a very well established family run business, with a small finance team based at their Croydon HQ. There is currently a rare opportunity to for a Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA Accountant to join the firm as the Finance Director. The successful applicant will work closely with the owners and manage three members of staff. The role is extremely varied and will include the following: To manage and motivate the team to provide efficient and accurate financial data to the BoardTo ensure that the Group's financial affairs are conducted in compliance with the required audit requirementsTo advise on the financial implications of new initiativesLiaise with financial institutions including but not exclusively the Inland Revenue and Customs and ExciseProduction of monthly Management Accounts and VAT returnsSupplying the Directors with accurate quarterly Management / Final AccountsTo provide shareholders with insight as to how to make the companies more profitable and tax efficientOverseeing all aspects of the day to day accounting activities (ledger maintenance, VAT, credit control etc.) To secure this role, you will need to possess the following skills / attributes: A Qualified Accountant with strong technical skillsExtensive knowledge of Sage 50Ability to produce accurate and timely management reportsExperience of completing and submitting complex VAT ReturnsExcellent written, verbal communication and inter-personal skillsAbility to motivate and develop team membersExperience of financial management involving multi-currencies would be beneficial Benefits include: Working hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm (with 30 mins lunch)20 days holiday which increases with service to 25 days per annumLife assuranceBUPA Health CarePrivate Medical Insurance Fletcher George is a Financial Recruitment specialist acting as an employment agency.
