My client, a rapidly growing and highly acquisitive private equity backed business, is looking to hire a recently qualified accountant to join its Group Finance team as a Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Analyst, in a role that will make a material contribution to the business' growth.Despite incredible growth in the last decade the business has still retained its dynamic SME feel that has allowed it to stay extremely agile and outmanoeuvre its competitors. As a result, it has grown turnover to c.GBP4bn (EBITDA c.GBP400m), and it is now a market leading retail business, winning multiple awards. The M&A team consists of this role and the M&A Manager and responsibilities will include:- Preparing and reviewing investment analysis, including site and company acquisitions- Preparing and maintaining a post-investment review file to track ongoing performance of investments, working with local contacts to source relevant information- Assisting the M&A Manager in the preparation of board papers and supporting information for pre and post-investment appraisals- Assisting in the preparation of Group board information, providing a link between the local contacts and Group Finance team- Assisting in the preparation and ongoing review of the budget / reforecast model- Keeping up to date with internal and external developments, advising senior management where relevant- Ad hoc work as and when required to support the Group Finance teamWith ambitious growth plans and private equity investment the business invests heavily in a high calibre finance team and insists they are at the heart of all business critical decision making. This environment places up and coming finance professionals at the heart of value creation, in broad and dynamic roles and provides them with the perfect platform from which to accelerate beyond their peers.Successful candidates will be recently qualified accountants (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong commercial instincts and excellent excel skills. No specific experience is necessary, although corporate finance experience will be an advantage. More important though is the ambition to make a material contribution to growth by helping to drive acquisitions. This is an extremely rare opportunity and be a fantastic addition to an ambitious candidates' CV.
