Network/unified Communication Solution Architect

The Solution Architect will focus on demand generated by regional global customer directors in defining complex global solutions to support the requirements of the global customers. Solutions could involve any operational attribute of Westcon including global product supply and logistics, staging and off-site integration, project management & coordination, field services, consulting, on-site resource, service desk, managed services, financial services, support services and education & training. Solutions may need to be tailored to individual customer requirements, so being creative to solve customer challenges is intrinsic to being successful in the role.

Although technology is at the heart of any solution, the Solution Architect is not expected to be a technical expert, but a generalist who is a subject matter expert in the process from 'lead to cash' through the lens of a global customer (SP or SI). The Solution Architect will be highly numerate and able to build complex cost models to support bids with a view to be able to hand over complex models to the delivery PMO. Being able to work with technical teams from both the OEM community as well as the customer/end user the Solution Architect will be able to translate/build guidelines for engineers as well as assess the engineering efforts required for certain tasks.

Experience
o Proven technology services experience
o Previously worked for the Service Provider industry in a Technical Sales capacity
o Creating Scope of Work and supporting customer service engagements

Knowledge
* Develop and maintain portfolio product knowledge in order to provide credible support to Global accounts and their prospective customers.
* Ability to accurately apply pricing, Gross Profit, discounts, margin calculations
* Understand business model of customer base and the sales cycle.
* End to end delivery cycles, particularly in the service provider/complex global space
* Broad technology experience in the network/security/unified communications space
* Cisco, Palo Alto, Juniper, F5 and surrounding vendor ecosystems
