GBP26,800 to GBP28,264 p.a
Full Time: 35 hours per week - Mon - Thurs 8am - 4pm & Fri 8:45am - 3:30pm
GBP0.40 per business mile
26 days holiday plus 8 statutory (+1 per each continued year)

Occupational Competence: Construction
Fab Recruitment is currently looking to recruit an experienced IQA who will also deliver some classroom training to construction apprenticeship learners at L1/L2.
Experience Required;
• TAQA IQA and assessor awards (or equivalent)
• A teaching qualification
• A L3 or equivalent qualification in a Construction discipline i.e. Painting & Decorating, Carpentry & Joinery, Brickwork, Plastering, Plumbing.
• Recent, up to date and relevant occupational experience with the capability / flexibility to assess / deliver more than one discipline (multi skilled)
• Experience of guiding and supporting young people.
• Experience of organising EQA visits and liaising with the relevant awarding bodies
• Able to demonstrate a sound understanding of QCF requirements
• Driving licence and own transport
• IOSH - Desirable
• An understanding of special education needs - Desirable
• Experience of monitoring and support staff.

Main responsibilities:

• To liaise closely with the Operations Manager to ensure that the company standards / expectations for all assessment methods and procedures are met.
• To work with the Construction team to ensure that any examples of practice that require improvement are identified, addressed and monitored to ensure a positive outcome through the Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) process.
• To teach, guide and support 14-18 year old learners (some with special educational needs), to enable them to achieve recognised qualifications in Construction (classroom based).
• To work alongside the Construction team to assess and deliver multi-skilled qualifications to learners of all ages, covering all aspects of the Construction industry (work based).
• To undertake internal quality assurance of all relevant vocational qualifications to ensure Awarding Organisation and company standards are fully met.

• To raise the achievement of all learners, reinforcing the company's high expectations of learners regardless of their level and results. To ensure that they have stretching targets which maintain their motivation, are focused on the challenges ahead and to encourage life long learning.
• To challenge all practices and procedures within own role and throughout the organisation and to contribute to and ensure continuous quality improvement.
• Work with the Operations Manager to support and organise the IQA process in Construction.
• To prepare for and conduct External Quality Assurance visits.
• Embed company values throughout delivery and assessment teams
• Support Trainer Assessors to ensure learners are making sufficient progress for timely achievement and that support is tailored to individual learners ensuring all learners reach their maximum potential.
• To organise the necessary training for learners to achieve frameworks or equivalent qualifications and provide guidance, support and coaching.
• To review and record learners' progress in the work place and off the job, by talking and liaising with the learner, the employer and others included in the learning process. To ensure the learners' progress is in line with the other components of their framework and learner journey.
• To carry out all IQA processes including planning sampling observation of assessment practice, standardisation / team meetings to meet Awarding Organisation requirements.
• To design, plan, produce and deliver vocational skills sessions, using I.T. wherever necessary, to ensure all learners gain the necessary underpinning knowledge and practical skills required for their qualification. These will need to meet the needs of a variety of learners and a variety of resources will need to be used and kept up to date.
• To work with learners in conjunction with the English, Maths & ICT Trainers towards the achievement of Maths, English and ICT.
• To secure regular, quality work experience for Study Programme learners, having first ensured that the employer / placement provider meets the required standards for training, safety, equality and safeguarding.
• To ensure that the centre is adequately stocked at all times with the materials and equipment required for classroom based delivery.
• To market and manage alternative provision contracts to maximise income whilst ensuring learner needs are met.
• To support Trainer Assessors with the assessment process through mentoring and carrying out workplace visits planned and unplanned.
• To play an active role in setting and monitoring of Trainer Assessor targets/caseloads.
• To complete the necessary paperwork to the standards required in our contractual obligations with the ESFA and others. To keep accurate records, both electronically and paper based, of assessments and other documentation required by awarding bodies.
• Along with the Full Time Provision Manager, monitor occupancy, provide other statistical information and reports as required and to undertake relevant administration duties.
• To undertake duties for colleagues as and when appropriate.
• Ensure all aspects of Equality & Diversity within Construction qualifications are delivered and keep up to date by attending any training and updates of Construction legislation.
