The introduction of end point assessments has created new opportunities in the apprenticeship market. Babcock has developed a new offering to respond to this opportunity through Babcock Assessments Ltd, which is now an Approved End Point Assessment Organisation.

We're now looking for a dynamic individual to join Babcock to develop and grow this new service. The Head of Assessment Services will have overall responsibility for the strategic direction of Babcock Assessments.

This is an exciting opportunity to nurture this new service from the very beginning. As such the individual will need to be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills, be results driven, forward thinking, and with a clear proactive approach to planning. Substantial Awarding Organisation experience which includes new Apprenticeship standards and end point assessment is also essential.

Key Accountabilities

• Manage the delivery of Apprenticeship end point assessments in a manner which is compliant with the relevant requirements set by the regulatory bodies including the Institute for Apprenticeships
• Identify, develop and deliver new sales opportunities in accordance with the sales growth strategy
• Review the monthly performance of Babcock Assessments Ltd (BAL), ensuring the achievement of all key performance indicators and address any underperformance through effective performance management
• Manage communication with all external partners including sector bodies, Institute for Apprenticeships, Ofqual and Awarding organisations
• Ensure BAL complies with all internal and external procedures and quality measures including key stakeholder feedback & EQA requirements
• Manage the BAL QA team (in conjunction with the wider Babcock QA function) in implementing moderation, consistency and standardisation of all assessment decisions and processes including grading
• Plan recruitment and development of all staff within areas of responsibility to maintain a professional team of industry specialists for EPA

Minimum requirements are:

• Substantial Awarding Organisation experience including new Apprenticeship standards and end point assessment
• An ability to manage across all sectors within the company portfolio
• Ability to understand and prepare tailored business solutions in line with the organisations strategic direction
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
