National Bovine Data Centre (NBDC) exists to develop industry-leading analysis of data for the improvement of dairy production in the UK.

Job Purpose

We at Holstein UK are looking for an experienced Head of Sales and Marketing to lead Holstein group-wide sales, adding products and profits benefitting the organisation and its customers. To market existing and new products via a variety of means so that they are well-known to and easily adopted by the industry.

Key Responsibilities

?? Development of an annual budget and sales activity plan to meet the budget.

?? Monthly reporting of activity and performance versus budget to Senior Management

?? Development of staff, identifying shortfalls in skills and training plans to remedy them

?? Selection of additional staff to sell into new markets

?? Participation in the management system of the Holstein Group, specifically 121s with all relevant staff and full participation in the monthly management meetings.

?? Understand existing pricing methodology and develop a pricing strategy and plan to be reviewed annually.

?? Personally generate sales of gross margin of GBP50,000 per annum.

?? Identify and renew business relationships within the industry

?? Identify new delivery mechanisms for services and products

?? Ensure our current processes are fit for purpose

?? Ensure everything we do and deliver has a time/cost-saving element, giving return on investment


?? To lead the Holstein team, specifically your function through the delivery of the Strategic plan

?? To ensure all reviews are carried out, development plans in line with the Company KPIs and that capability is always improving

?? To ensure all company polices are understood and adhered to


?? To agree the Business development budget and ensure ROI is measured and delivered, maximise profits

?? To reduce the costs in all areas year-on-year


?? To manage any operational projects required that support the business plan

?? To oversee business compliance with relevant regulations

?? To ensure that all processes are continually reviewed and streamlined

Qualifications & Experience

?? Educated to degree-level

?? 5 years' experience at Sales Management level

?? Exposure to any element of the agricultural supply chain (desirable)

?? Experience in a Sales and Marketing dual role

?? High-quality networking skills

?? Must be able to work on their own initiative

?? Excellent oral and written communication skills

?? Excellent methodical, tactical sales skills

?? First class negotiation skills

?? Superior interpersonal skills

Working Hours

?? 35 hours per week (Flexible working hours)
