A fantastic opportunity for a Finance Manager has arisen at a well known established family run business services company based in Croydon. It is expected that the role of Finance Manager would be looking to progress quickly into a Finance Director position. The company has been around for more than 100 years and offer excellent benefits, such as; health cash plan, life insurance, private medical.Production of monthly Management Accounts and VAT returnsProduction of draft and final accountsSupplying the Directors with accurate quarterly Management/Final AccountsTo manage and maintain the Accounts for the whole group (including a charity) businesses up to final accounts stage, produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts and VAT Returns, attend the regular visits from external Accountants for the review of Management Accounts and VAT returns and to work with them to finalise the Accounts. To oversee the preparation of annual accounts for the Companies, the financial accounts and quarterly budget reviews and to work with external Auditors (as above). To oversee the preparation of Accounts and manage the Accounts team, ensuring full efficiency within the department. To provide shareholders with insight as to how to make the companies more profitable and tax efficient Training and managing the Accounts Assistants and Credit ControllerMaintain the Sage 50 Accounting system, which includes all aspects of book-keeping and accounts i.e. Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Nominal Ledger and creating data from the weekly payroll reports suitable for posting into the accounting system.Carrying out regular bank statement reconciliations on the bank accounts for all business related companies.Manage and motivate the team to provide efficient and accurate financial data to the boardEnsure that the Group's financial affairs are conducted in compliance with the required audit requirementsAdvise on the financial implications of new initiativesLiaise with financial institutions including but not exclusively the Inland Revenue and Customs and ExciseEnsuring the paying of bills for all businesses is done by the timeframe agreedIncorporating into the accounts system all invoices and other book-keeping transactions from International (purchase ledger transactions i.e. bills unseen) and reconciling their bank statement having written up their cash book with items not enteredEnsuring all Group company accounts are reconciled and timely Management Accounts are produced every quarterOversee the cost control process and production of quarterly reviews of budgets against actual expenditureOversee the management of any financial back office operationsCo-ordinate a working relationships with the Finance TeamProviding upon request The Office for National Statistics with any required informationProvide shareholders with insight as to how to make the companies more profitable and tax efficient Experienced and qualified ACCA AccountantCurrent experience and extensive knowledge of Sageline 50 is essentialKnowledge, experience and ability to work with external AccountantsAbility to produce accurate and timely management reportsExperience of completing and submitting complex VAT ReturnsSales, Purchase and Nominal Ledger experienceExperience in a financial management roleExcellent written and verbal communication as well as inter-personal skillsSufficient experience to review financial data and identify anomalies instinctivelyAbility to be flexible and 'hands on'Ability to motivate and develop team membersTime management skillsExperience of financial management involving multi-currencies would be beneficialExperience of budgeting / monthly and quarterlyAbility to multi-taskGood communicatorProblem solverReed Specialist Recruitment Limited is an employment agency and employment business
