Assistant Management Accountant
Our client is chain of Restaurants who brought the concept of a Japanese 'kaiten' sushi bar and became the original and most famous sushi brand in the UK. The company operates over 70 restaurants in the UK and several franchise operations across the world with further expansion planned. They are now looking to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to join their exciting team. The company is in the process of settling in a new accounting system (Sage ERP), reporting system (Qlickview) and till system ( NCR) and is due to begin the process to convert financial accounts from UK Gaap to either IFRS or New UK Gaap. This role is key to delivering quality financial information for over 90 restaurants and several franchise restaurants located in the UK and overseas. Main duties and responsibilities: Working as part of a team of 3, the deliverables of the role include: Preparation of restaurant P&Ls at month end including the raising of any necessary accruals and prepayments.Margin Analysis for P&L's.Monthly meetings with Heads of Department to review costs against budgets & forecastsAccurate & timely distribution of P&L's.Full balance sheet reconciliations for all accruals, prepayments and system control accounts.Point of contact for restaurant and operational queries.Accurately accounting for rebates, invoicing rebate invoices to suppliers & ensuring rebate paid on a timely basis.Work with energy consultants to ensure all utilities (water, gas and electric) are accurately accounted for, budgeted and forecasted.Responsible for all fixed assets accounting from creation of fixed assets, running depreciation to board reporting and dealing with auditors.Maintain all finance systems & constantly review ways of working with the system to improve efficiencies.Cost benefit analysis and any other ad hoc duties as required by the Senior Management Team and Board of Directors.Assesses the functions, objectives and requirements of the organisation seeking advice;Identifies problems concerned with business strategy, policy, organisation, procedures, methods and markets;Determines the appropriate method of data collection and research methodology, analyses and interprets information gained and formulates and implements recommendations and solutions;Reports to Senior Management Accountant. The suitable candidate must have minimum 3 experience within Accounting sector and must be able to work in a team or independently using own initiative. Skills and Abilities: Accuracy and organisational skillsMedium - Large Company experience (30+ cost centres)Previous Experience of large ReconciliationsIntermediate excel skillsVery Organised with good communication skills"Can" do attitude and proactive approach to drive efficiencies Education: Be a part qualified accountant (CIMA/ACA/ACCA or overseas equivalent) or willing to undertake these qualifications.
