About the Hospital:
We are looking to recruit an experienced and committed Theatre Nurse/ODP to join our friendly Recovery operating theatre team based in Cambridge.

If you are a Theatre Nurse/ODP looking for a role where you can build a diverse range of clinical skills this is the place for you, as we provide a very wide range of surgical procedures, ranging in complexity and acuity. Our theatre teams also work closely with some of the region's leading consultants and are exposed to the latest innovative, evidence -based clinical techniques.

Our real driving force is our ability to invest in our people, as we support our Theatre Nurses and ODPs to build their skills through mentoring and formal training such as ALS or ASP.

Job Summary:
We prefer our theatre staff to be as multi-skilled as possible, so ideally you will be able to work across scrub, anaesthetics and/or recovery, but many of our staff specialise in just one or two areas.

Most important is that our Theatre Nurses/ODPs are experienced in a variety of surgical procedures, or are willing to learn new procedures and techniques under expert supervision. We are keen to promote from within there network, so if you are looking for a long term career with advancement opportunities you will find them.

A number of our Theatre Nurses/ODPs have gone on to secure Theatre Team Leader and Theatre Manager posts and we are very keen to encourage these ambitions.

* Assess patients' health and well being across a complex and changing caseload.
* Assist in the delivery of care to meet individuals' health and wellbeing needs
* Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information.
* Develop own knowledge and skills and that of others.
* Promotes best practice in health and safety and security.
* Assist in maintaining and developing services.
* Contribute to quality improvement.
* Promote people's equality, diversity and rights.
* Acknowledge the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and understand own
responsibility as agreed with line manager in the prevention and control of HCAI.
