Exciting opportunities has arisen within this large national company who are looking to recruit an experienced Payroll Specialist and offering a salary of GBP35,000 depending on experience

Main function of role:
Ensure accurate and timely process and balancing of the company's payrolls alongside the production of financial information.
Provide flexible support to senior payroll team including support on data uploads to the payroll system to high level of accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:
Help ensure that all payrolls are delivered to a high standard of accuracy and in accordance with current legislation.
Administer, maintain and produce reports for the head office flexitime system.
Provide flexible support to the senior payroll administrators on the team.
Liaise with governing and statutory bodies as required for any research.
Authorise and sign correspondence.
Carry out Workday validations and any uploads.
Validate and process EDI, RTI & EPS files, etc.
Assist with tax year end duties such as balance reconciliations, tax control accounts, P11D production and PSA returns.
Process payments to HMRC.
Payroll/Finance reconciliations.
Write, modify and produce reports.
Other duties as may be required.

Skills & Competencies:
Up to date working knowledge of payroll practices.
Experience of problems that can affect payroll and experience of resolving common payroll issues.
Experience of tax year end practices and requirements.
Ability to work under pressure and commit to tight deadlines.
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both written and spoken.
Microsoft Excel knowledge at Intermediate level or above.
Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a wider team, whilst managing workloads and remaining flexible.

Skills & Competencies:
Detailed knowledge of payroll rules and common payroll problems that can occur.
Strong analytical ability and excellent communication skills.
Ability to influence and interact well with team members.
Organisational and time management skills in managing multiple, diverse and sometimes conflicting priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Experience in payroll compliance practices.
Ability to make decisions.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Typically, 10 or more years' of Payroll experience preferably with at least two or more years' experience of managing staff.
