Associate Director Digital
Ofqual regulates qualifications, exams and assessments in England. We're here to secure the standards of qualifications, to promote confidence in them and to ensure that the system works well - that standards are maintained. We've got an important job to do in a dynamic sector. It's a challenging yet exciting time.
We're looking for a senior leader to head up our new Digital Services team in Ofqual IM. Their role will be to make sure our requirements for digital are identified and can support our strategic objectives and to ensure technology is taken-up by our user community.
Although based in Ofqual IM, the role contributes to all our work to reform qualifications, maintain standards in GCSEs and A levels and regulate vocational and technical education. The post holder will play an important role to lead and build digital products to meet the needs of regulation and to pursue government policy for cloud IT, digital, data reuse, security and agile delivery for the qualifications we regulate.
With the greater public focus on apprenticeships and technical education, Ofqual's work on vocational and technical qualifications has an increasingly high profile in addition to regulating GCSEs and A levels; using digital effectively for regulation has an increasingly important role to play in our work.
We need someone with proven leadership and digital experience, and ideally with knowledge of education, skills and/or regulation. You'll work with colleagues across Ofqual and beyond. You'll lead a small team in Ofqual IM, and be part of Ofqual's wider leadership team. You'll have strong digital engagement skills, will be able to present complex ideas clearly and represent Ofqual to a range of audiences to promote Ofqual's digital delivery agenda.
If this sounds like you, we are keen to get your application.
