The Role

Robert Half Taxation are hiring for a Tax Manager for a pharmaceutical company based near to Cambridge. This is a newly-created, permanent full-time position.

Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, the Tax Manager will look after all the UK tax affairs of this multinational pharmaceutical business. The work will focus on corporate tax and R&D tax, but will also look after other areas of tax such as VAT, PAYE and employment taxes.

The Tax Manager will be the direct point of contact for the business with HMRC, and will responsible for preparation and submission of tax returns, tax compliance and tax reporting. He or she will be fairly hands-on in managing the company's tax compliance affairs, but will utilise the firm's external tax advisors for the tax planning and advisory work and will work jointly with the advisors and the Financial Controller on tax project work.

Your Profile

The company is looking to hire a qualified tax professional (ACA / ACCA / ICAS / CTA) with significant experience in UK corporation tax. Experience in other areas of UK tax is beneficial but not strictly required.

This experience could have been gained from working at a mid-to-large size accountancy practice or from working in the in-house tax team of a sizeable commercial business.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, an adept team player and will be capable of working independently when required.

Salary & Benefits

The role comes with a salary in the region of GBP55,000 to GBP60,000 with bonus and benefits package on top.
