Job Purpose

The key purpose of this role is to understand and identify business change needs, assess the impact of those changes, capture, analyse and document requirements and then support the business, the communication and delivery of those requirements through the implementation process.

The role will require the job holder to work independently with users/customers and under direction of project managers, on multiple initiatives concurrently which may be both small scale business process improvements and larger scale change initiatives.

The successful candidate will be a key part of a small team responsible for supporting and enhancing the system, based in the UK and Bangalore. In a small team it is expected that the Business Analyst will need to be prepared to be hands on in undertaking a variety of tasks themselves and seeing these through to delivery.

Core Responsibilities

Working with the team and external suppliers to understand, gather and document requirements, developing functional design documents and obtaining sign offs and coordinating testing with the test team.
Identifying options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitability.
Creating logical and innovative solutions to potentially complex problems.
Defining business acceptance criteria and performing quality assurance of business analysis deliverables.
Identifying and documenting project risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.
Proactively resolving project issues and mitigating project risks.
Delivering and being responsible for all documentation and status reporting as required by suppliers and stakeholders. Ensuring that the output is clear, concise and correct.
Ensuring that test, assurance, security and quality controls are built into plans.
Running project definition workshops and resolving complex scoping issues and stakeholder conflicts.
Producing basic business cases and seeking approval from senior stakeholders.
Presenting findings to senior (executive) stakeholders.
Performing project estimation for BA related tasks.
Assisting and enhancing relationships with third party suppliers.
Liaising with the testing team and business to scope and schedule testing activities required.
Identifying and managing/supporting business implementation tasks.
Performing process improvement work.
Maintain the company's compliance standards and ensure timely completion of all mandatory on-line training modules and attestations.
Experience Requirements

24m previous experience in a Business Analyst role is essential.
12m previous experience working with a Mortgage Servicing systems software is desirable.
12m previous experience working within a Retail Banking or servicing environment is desirable.
12m previous experience working within a Mortgage Software Supplier / Client relationship is desirable.
6m previous experience working with multi-location or offshore internal clients is desirable.
6m previous experience in implementing 3rd party solutions and working with 3rd party suppliers is desirable.
Knowledge Requirements

Detailed knowledge of the project lifecycle and a variety of project approaches is essential.
Intermediate knowledge of the mortgage servicing process is desirable.
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
Required Qualifications/Certifications

GCSE or O-Level qualifications in both Maths and English are essential
BCS/ISEB Business Analysis diploma level is desirable
