An opportunity has arisen to join the fast developing Commissioning & Improvement (C&I) - Children's Commissioning & Contract Management Team. The team brings together commissioning and procurement expertise with a robust supplier and contract management approach to offer high quality, flexible and agile support to our Children Social Care Division. The successful applicants for the Contract & Commissioning Manager position will play a crucial part in leading on quality improvements and efficiency savings across one of the Council's largest area of contract spend.

This is a great time to join our Commissioning & Improvement Children's team as we embark on transforming the way commission and manage the delivery of services, valued at approx. GBP100m over the next 4 years. The team will be responsible for the contract management of a number of new transformational and alternative delivery programmes including Framework Agreements, Payment by Result Contracts and Dynamic Purchasing Programmes for Children Social Care. This will improve the quality of social care services commissioned by Croydon and support the delivery of savings required within the budget.

We are looking for an experienced Contract & Commissioning Manager who will be able to support the business by taking responsibility for all aspects of contract management and negotiation. The successful applicant will also be expected to manage all contractual arrangements for the provision of services and third party agreements and effectively manage relationships with a range of different providers in a challenging and complex service area.

This role requires a comprehensive understanding of the commissioning, procurement and contract management, ideally in a public sector health and social care setting, is essential. Collaboration with other teams including Performance, Strategy, Quality Assurance & Safeguarding, Placements and Finance is essential to inform the review and performance management practice. To do so it is important that you are able to form effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, that you have an eye for detail and can make decisions based on evidence. To be at the forefront of this change, you will need to be able to inspire others with your energy, enthusiasm and 'can-do' approach as well as evidence successful delivery of contract savings and efficiencies.
