Our client is looking to recruit someone with strong audit skills gained in a Top 10 Practice for a varied and interesting opportunity based in The City of London. If you enjoy the technicalities of what you do, but are looking for a bit more than a standard Audit Manager role, this could be an excellent opening for you.

Investigating financial discrepancies and fraudulent activity, which will involve identifying these situations through your own investigations as well as responding to information received, the Audit Case Regulatory Manager will utilise their audit and managerial skills to carry out the following responsibilities:

• The day-to-day management of cases and assisting the Head of Case Examinations and Enquiries to make determinations under the applicable disciplinary procedures
• Identifying potential cases by monitoring various sources (e.g. the press, referrals from other regulators and/ or internal sources) as well as responding to complaints received, including an assessment of whether a case should be opened
• Requesting information from relevant sources (e.g. audit firms, companies, professional bodies, other regulators)
• Analysing information received and making recommendations for decisions about the appropriate outcome for a case as well as drafting papers for consideration by the relevant committee where necessary
• Managing cases and other work to meet required deadlines
• Following applicable processes and procedures, ensuring that all management information systems are kept up-to-date as well as improving these where necessary
• Write and present reports on your findings
• Building and maintaining relationships as well as sharing information (where applicable) with the relevant internal as well as external (e.g. regulatory / law enforcement bodies) teams
• Deputise for the Head of Case Examinations and Enquiries as required

The successful candidate for this unique role will satisfy the following criteria:

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or equivalent accountancy qualification
• Have a strong academic and professional record
• Possess a sound understanding of audit and accounting regulations
• Be genuinely interested in forensic accounting and investigation work
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
