The Role

The Finance Controller is a key member of the Senior Management Team responsible for the day to day accounting and financial management of the Group, its associated companies and its subsidiaries. The Finance Controller is also responsible for budgeting, reporting on the financial performance to Directors.

Key tasks: You will mentor and develop a Financial Assistant, who has responsibility for Sales- and Purchase Ledger, Cash Book, Credit Control and - in a dotted line capacity to Inventory Control they will overview Purchasing. Cash Management, including Forecasting, FOREX and Invoice Financing, the management of Bank Facilities and Stock Forecasting. Nominal Ledger and Management of Accounts and regular reporting to Directors. Financial Controls and support to Directors, as required Annual Budget Monthly Management Reports for the Directors and Year End Statutory Accounts and liaison with Accountants. All aspects of Taxation (VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax).

Compliance and reporting: Consumer Credit Licence (FCA), WEEE recycling (DTI) Payroll, PAYE, P11Ds, NI and staff expenses Sage 200 and liaison with Sage partners. Sage is used as a fully integrated system to manage ordering, sales and accounts. Sundry facilities as requested by the Directors, NIVO commission, Insurance, Utilities and fuel purchase. Sundry Reports for some Customers and Buying Groups. Company Secretarial functions

Levels of Authority: To represent the Company to our Bankers, Government and Semi Government Institutions, Suppliers and Customers.

Your Profile

The Financial Controller will be a qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) accountant or QBE. You must have previous experience of working in a SME company and ideally experience with in a multi currency environment and previous experience of SAGE.

Our client is a well established Family run retail / service business with a current turn over of GBP4million. This is a hands on role with one direct report based near Newbury.

Salary & Benefits

GBP45,000 - GBP53,000 + Benefits
