If yes, this is the role for you! CAS Behavioural Health is a leading UK provider of specialist adult services in mental health rehabilitation and learning disabilities. We work in close partnership with the NHS, providing a step down service for NHS patients detained in secure facilities or acute settings. Our emphasis on intensive rehabilitation provides clients with a step-by-step programme to return to the community or suitable long-term placement.

Role: Clinical / Forensic Psychologist (Adult Learning Disability Service)

Hours/Contract: 4 days per week (Monday to Thursday) / 12 month Maternity Cover

Location: The Manor, Central Drive, Shirebrook, Nottinghamshire, NG20 8BA

The Manor Hospital is a 20 bedded locked door rehabilitation service which specialises in the assessment and treatment of men (aged 18-65) diagnosed learning disability and who present with challenging behaviour and comorbid diagnoses.

Job Role

In this role, you will provide a high quality psychology service for men with learning disabilites, comorbid diagnosis, forensic histories and behaviours that may challenge within an in-patient setting. You will take a lead in the design and implementation of individual and group psychological treatment programmes. Good time management and supervision skills are essential to oversee and support the Assistant Psychologists based at the site.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will be a qualified Clinical or Forensic Psychologist and ideally have experience in a comprehensive range of psychological therapies, risk assessment, training and supervision. We will also consider applications from new qualified psychologists.

Experience of working within in-patient services would be an advantage however support and supervision is available.
The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team is key, along with organisational skills, resilience, confidence and motivation. Above all, you will be someone with a genuine desire to help others.

Specific Requirements

The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS and reference check and an offer of employment will be subject to successful clearance.
