TEACHER OF KEY STAGE 1 or 2

Salary : GBP25,000 - GBP35,000

Our client, a Prep School, is situated just across the road from the Senior
School, and stands in its own beautiful four acre secure and secluded site,
complete with wooded playground area and wonderful outdoor surroundings.

They are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic teacher with the ability to demonstrate excellent classroom practice. The successful applicant will join a dedicated and dynamic team and work alongside the teacher of the parallel class. They will have a love of teaching, a genuine commitment to the needs of the pupils and take a full and active part in the life of the school. There is the potential for the right candidate to lead a subject.

Key Responsibilities

• To undertake general class teaching and implement the requirements of the National Curriculum

• To take responsibility for the social and emotional wellbeing and the welfare and safety of the pupils in the class, keeping SMT informed of important issues.

• To ensure that medium term and short term plans are in place in line with the curriculum policy.

• To follow school policies and procedures and to take an active role in their review.

• To complete admin tasks for the smooth running of the form including newsletter entries.

• To take part in staff appraisal and take responsibility for own professional development.

• To follow the school's safeguarding policy and to read updates.

• To keep appropriate records on the children's progress as required by the school and discuss the children's progress with the Head of Key Stage/Subject Leader.

• To input academic and pastoral notes on to the school management system.

• To deploy Learning Assistants effectively so they make a positive impact on pupils' learning

• To provide high quality interactive displays in the classroom and around the school.

• To write reports on the children, meet parents to discuss children's progress and attend Parent Evenings.

• To attend staff meetings, INSET days and meetings on curriculum development.

• To organise and run at least one extra curricular activity.

• To assist with school events, eg sports days, school and class productions and Foundation Day.

• To arrange/deliver class assembly on an annual basis.

• To teach other year groups as required by the Head of the Prep School.

• To take lessons and duties for another member of staff when necessary.

• To liaise with the Head of Learning Enrichment regarding SENS, EAL, G & T and keep IEPS up-to-date.

• To promote and foster a happy working atmosphere in the classroom and to work towards the development and aims of the school.
• Any other duties reasonably required by the Head.
