This position is working for a regulatory body to the accountancy industry and is responsible for ensuring the quality of auditors is kept high throughout the profession.
The Senior Audit Manager is tasked with spending 3-4 days per week at practices based close to where they live and sitting down with audit staff to assess the quality of their work and to provide advice on how things can be improved. The secondary task is to advice the practice on how it can be run more effectively, for example giving advice on training, new legislation, and how to mitigate risks e.g on data protection and managing client funds.
The hours on these days are 9-5 including travel, and the other 1-2 days you would be working from home writing reports.
As such the role offers a mix of technical audit work and consultancy, with short hours and the ability to work from home.
The company is looking for a qualified audit manager or senior manager currently or recently working in practice.They are able to offer a salary up to GBP72,000 plus benefits package.
