We are currently working with a digital educational technology start-up creating digital educational products for a global audience. They presently employ over 200 members of staff across their Cairo and UK offices.

We are looking for a writer of excellent mathematics content to kick start the Chinese language section of the companies digital education platforms. A significant component of the job will be translating (from English), editing, and reviewing Chinese educational content for mathematics students and teachers.
Alongside these responsibilities, you will be using your expertise to help guide the rollout of our website and applications in Chinese speaking countries.

Responsibilities

Translate, edit, and review mathematical questions and solutions ensuring they are logically structured, easy-to-read, pedagogically sound, and in the right style for the intended audience
Take ownership and responsibility for the quality of all our Chinese content
Advise on the roll out of our content into Chinese speaking countries Liaise regularly with content writers and developers in English, both verbally and in writing

Qualifications & Work Experience

Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and/or experience of teaching Mathematics
Mathematical writing, copyediting, or other related experience. Preferably this would have been in Simplified Chinese

Essential Competencies

Native speaker of Chinese with excellent written Simplified Chinese Ability to work effectively in an English-speaking environment Excellent communication skills
Well organized with the ability to produce high-quality work to tight deadlines
Adaptability, flexibility, and willingness to learn

Desirable Competencies

Knowledge of mathematical curriculum, notation, and conventions in China and other Chinese-speaking countries
Experience of copyediting mathematics aimed at a K-12 audience

Received mathematical training in Chinese

Compensation

Gross annual salary of GBP30,000-GBP36,000, competitive pension and 28 days leave exclusive of bank holidays.

Location

The role is full time at their UK office based in Windsor, Berkshire
