A Commercial business in the Energy Sector are recruiting exclusively with Robert Half, for a Group Financial Controller. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well established and successful business in a growing sector, with a varied and progressive position. Working within a team of 10 - 12 people with some line management and team development responsibility, and managing 7 staff.
About the role
As the Group Financial Controller, the focus of your role is to provide accurate and timely management accounts, forecasts and other ad hoc management information to senior management. To ensure that the financial accounts are accurately reconciled and controlled in accordance with best accounting practice, internal policies and in compliance with funder requirements.
Alongside this, you will cover the following:
To take responsibility, for delivering accurate and timely monthly management accounts, variance analysis and business commentary on time and to a high standard, together with additional financial management information as directed.
Lead on the year-end process being first point of contact for our external auditors
. Prepare the statutory disclosure notes and liaise with outsourced statutory accounts preparation provider.
Responsible for maintaining the 3 year forecast model and its development in conjunction with the CFO.
To develop, mentor and manage staff as directed to deliver their objectives and further improve the performance of the finance function.
To support process improvements and initiatives, in collaboration with the Compliance & Accreditation Manager and other stakeholders as necessary. Where possible seeking to agree and evidencing through common consensus improvement recommendations.
Daily management of banking requirements; overseeing circa 30 accounts. Timely processing of restricted funds received into designated accounts.
What I need-
Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
Experience of group consolidations
Proven experience managing (and developing) a team
Solid systems experience, ideally Cognos / TM1 experience, although not a prerequisite.
Salary and Benefits
GBP60,000 - 65,000 + 10% discretionary bonus, pension, private healthcare.
