Data Governance Manager

Cambridge

As part of a new and business critical function you will play a key role in delivering the data governance strategy in a global multi-billion-dollar organisation.

You will be responsible for delivering a master data governance strategy and delivering standards, policies, rule books and processes to ensure these are Embedded in the Finance organisation. This will involve an ongoing contribution to the continuous improvement of master data maturity.

Accountability:

  • Manages the day to day operation of the master data governance council to ensure the control of master data changes. This includes the collation of requirements and data, link with key stakeholders and documentation of the council decisions,
  • Coordinate/collaborate on the main activities for master data governance with Data Owners/Data Stewards and other stakeholders from Finance,
  • Once changes are approved, co-ordinates the implementation of the changes in the relevant downstream systems working with the owners of those systems
  • Review the Master Data Management/Governance procedures, and/or workflow needs and identify ways to capture, validate and integrate information to improve overall business process performance,
  • Conduct training in finance master data processes and policies/rule books for relevant stakeholders within
  • Work collaboratively with:
    • Process owners to facilitate implementation of new business processes and other modifications
    • Data Owners to support and liaise with the Data Owners in the execution of their role
  • Data Stewards to support and liaise with the Data Stewards in the execution of their role

Your background:

  • Experience in data governance
  • Strong academic record including finance and/or business qualification
  • Strong communication, organisation and facilitation skills
  • Excellent business engagement and business acumen
  • The ability to design, define and implement solutions for different customer groups
  • Experience of working with and managing third party suppliers/vendors
