The Vacancy

Concord Education are looking for an experienced SEN teacher to work as a teacher and Curriculum Lead at an independent special school for young people with social, emotional and mental health issues (SEMH). This vacancy has arisen due to a promotion.

The School

This school benefits from having 2 sites, located less than a mile apart. It has been operating for 8 years and caters for up to 25 students aged 11 - 18 at any one time. There are currently 21 registered for September, so it is likely that they will be operating at capacity. Students are referred from various authorities across the north-west. Each has an education, health and care plan. Many have been excluded, or absent long-term form mainstream school. The school prepares students for further education, training and employment through an academic and vocational curriculum, careers education and work experience.

Ofsted 2017

A recent Ofsted inspection has found this school to be "good" in all areas. Specific praise was given for engagement of pupils, promotion of emotional stability, academic success, positive student outcomes, inspirational leadership, staff teamwork, progress achieved through IEPs, improvements in behaviour and attendance and the overall preparation of students for the next stage in their learning.

The successful candidate will be a SEN teacher with strong experience of working with SEMH issues and curriculum development.
