Fantastic Birmingham based opportunity for a Programme Manager (Supply Chain) for my highways sector client. Whilst Birmingham is the preferred location we can also consider Manchester, Leeds, Bedford, Bristol or Guildford for the ideal candidate.

The aim of this role is to co-ordinate, organise, direct and implement a dossier of projects and transformation activities and services to support the supply chain in developing sufficient capacity and capability to enable delivery of the company's growing investment programme.


* Design, co-ordinate and lead the successful day to day delivery of the Programme using Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) or equivalent methodology.
* Develop and ensure business cases,
* Ensure full compliance with the appropriate financial governance arrangements for the Programme and projects within it.
* Ensure Quality Assurance and overall integrity of the Programme - focusing inwardly on the internal consistency of the Programme; and outwardly on its coherence, interfaces with other programmes and portfolios of work, and corporate technical and specialist standards.
* Identify constraints within the Programme and work to overcome them.
* Prepare Programme reporting information for all key stakeholder groups.
* Influence colleagues and senior management to work collaboratively with key PPD practices.
* Understand the core business drivers, environment and organisation.
* Engage closely with the supply chain and other key stakeholders in the development and implementation of the Programme
* Ensure there is a clear communication plan (internal and external) established and implemented

Relevant Experience:

* Demonstrable experience of working successfully in a Managing Successful Programmes or complex Project Management environment to OGC or similar standards.
* Able to join the PPD (Programme and Project Management) Network working at PPD level 3 in Programme Management skills area.
* Demonstrable experience of leading people to successful delivery of large scale, complex and/or high risk projects, or high profile / high risk services.
* Evidence of working successfully to influence programmes, projects and project managers both in and out of the immediate team.
* Evidence of successful engagement with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
* Able to operate as a member of a Peer Review team and as an OGC Gateway reviewer and practitioner.
* Aspire to achieve PPD level 4 and become a member of high risk Gateway Review team.
* Ability to work effectively in a political environment.
* Good understanding of the supply chain markets within relevant sector
* Good commercial awareness of project and programme delivery
