DS Smith Launceston is currently looking for a HR Advisor to join them at this very exciting time. We are looking for an experienced HR professional who can ensure the effective delivery of the HR operational plan by providing the necessary drive, support and guidance to the site.

What being the HR Advisor at DS Smith will involve???

The successful candidate will report to the site Managing Director with a dotted line to the HR Business Partner, forming a vital part of the UK Packaging HR community. As such, the HR Advisor will ensure the delivery of the HR operational plan by providing necessary drive, support and guidance. The HR Advisor will be pro-active in resolving challenging situations whilst driving best practice and ensuring compliance with all company procedures, policies and employment legislation.

Key duties:

• Drive and deliver HR excellence using various tools including HR dashboard, Key Performance Indicators & Workday
• Develop and implement People Plans in line with business needs & in conjunction with Learning & Development Manager
• Provide HR guidance and expertise to the site on all HR activity including absence management, performance management, disciplinary and grievance
• Actively drive the sites Occupational Health Plans, monitor and support as necessary
• Work with the HRBP to support all major employee change programme
• Provide guidance and support on employee welfare issues
• Ensure the delivery of site HR programmes such as Healthy Hearts Initiative and drive active engagement of the local employee forum
• Provide Support to other HR colleagues within the organisation as determined by the HR Business Partner
• Work closely with the Payroll Administrator & SSC to migrate existing variable data and processes to Workday
• Work collaboratively with the Shared Service Centre in ensuring the site is using the service both effectively and efficiently
• Monitors compliance with all key HR policies and processes; Recommends corrective actions for non-compliance to HR Business Partner
• Keeps abreast of changes in HR and employment legislation

What we would like our candidate to have???

The successful individual will be an experienced HR generalist having been exposed to an operational environment and ideally having been working within in a multi-site organisation. Along with a strong knowledge of HR processes and procedures the future incumbent must be able to demonstrate:

• CIPD (desirable)
• HR professional with experience of working within a HR function in an operational environment
• Experience in working in a multi-site organisation with various stakeholders (desirable)
• Experience of advising managers on HR issues and supporting the delivery of HR projects
• In-depth knowledge of HR generalist activities
• Experience in working across different lines of the business

Salary: GBP26-34k subject to experience and qualification
