Our Client is looking for an experienced HR Assistant with Occupational Health Knowledge, to join them for temporary role to cover maternity leave, the initial period being 9 months.Responsibilities include:
* Assist in ensuring that the Service's sickness and absence monitoring records are accurate and up to date and that all necessary changes are made to personal records, both manual and computerised. * Assist in ensuring that the Service's Maternity Policy is maintained, providing assistance to female personnel and ensuring the records are accurate and up to date.* Liaise with the Payroll Manager on a monthly basis regarding maternity leave, sickness and long-term absences.* Liaise with Head of County Commands/Heads of Departments to provide support and information to enable them to monitor sickness absence effectively. Assist with the Head of Human Resources whenever necessary, providing as required, statistical information relating to sickness and absence records.* Assist in producing monthly statistical information for Core PIs to Head of County Commands and Heads of Departments. Provide yearly statistical information to ODPM relating to sickness absence and medical referrals.* Arrange and liaise with the Occupational Health provider regarding all medical examinations. Maintain Occupational Health medical recording systems within the personnel database.* Arrange and carry out home visits relating to maternity, long-term sickness, as necessary.* Administer the Service's Aids to Vision Scheme including the checking and verification of invoices, and ensuring that aids to vision are issued in accordance with Policy and records maintained accordingly.* Administration and processing of LGV applications, provisional and renewal, arranging medical examinations accordingly.* Assist the Head of Human Resources in his duties and responsibilities, as required.

* Carry out investigations relating to discipline.* Attend appeal Medical Board hearings
