Randstad Care is currently recruiting for an Independent Reviewing Officer to work in Cumbria, working within Children's services, based in Carlisle. Excellent salary of up to GBP38p/h Ltd offered

The purpose of the role as an Independent Reviewing Officer is:

* To improve the outcomes for children and young people within the county by listening to the voice of the child, young person and their families, understanding their needs and working together to agree how these needs will be met with he right help and support.

* To chair multi-agency looked after children reviews, Child Protection conferences, children in need meetings and complex strategy meetings as required. To provide specialist consultation and quality assurance.

* To be responsible for the decision making at conferences and reviews ensuring that there is a framework for reviewing compliance with the plans made

* To challenge service decisions where necessary to fulfil an agreed care plan and to use statutory powers to escalate to senior management and external bodies where appropriate.

* To build and maintain relationships with key partners to improve outcomes for children

* To ensure that children's rights are adequately addressed

* To develop, maintain and comply with efficient and effective systems to ensure compliance with procedures and recording systems

* Undertake the required monitoring of process's within required timescales

* To promote high quality service delivery and customer care

* To chair reviews, strategy meetings, conferences effectively, ensuring that all participants from all agencies involved in cases, have an opportunity to raise concerns.

* To ensure that conflict resolution, safeguarding alerts and practice alerts are raised where appropriate to the case.

* To enable the child to have a voice in proceedings, meeting beforehand to discuss with them the issues they want or want to have raised.

* To ensure that parents have an opportunity to make their views known during the course of the meeting and are clear about any recommendations and plans are made involving them and their family.

* To bring those meetings to a close summarising the position reached and making any decision clearly, and requesting all actions from professionals as appropriate.

You will hold a Social Worker qualification and have relevant experience working as an Independent Reviewing Officer or related role, you will be HCPC registered and be able to obtain a satisfactory enhanced DBS certificate.
