Regional Finance Business Partner

The role will business partner with at Branch Managers and their respective Regional Operations Directors, while working as part of a regional finance team based in different locations across the UK.
Provide both financial leadership, sound judgement and operational and commercial challenge and control to help the branches hit medium term growth objectives.
Add financial insight to operational efficiency opportunities available at Branch level.
Challenge and develop the current processes and methodologies and push for continuous improvement.

Nature & Scope of the Job

Based out of Manchester, the role will require travel to 4 additional sites in Preston, Walsall and Wolverhampton to meet with the management teams, as well as travel for Regional Finance and Head Office meetings.
Work as a team to standardise and formalise financial processes and rigour across the branch network to improve visibility of financial, commercial and operational performance during each financial period.
Have a desire to "get under the bonnet", dissect operational processes and propose KPIs to measure the productivities achieved in each element of those processes and understand if the right commercial decisions are being made.
Deeply understand business challenges, talk their language and 'have a view'.
Build and manage relationships and network productively.
Have the ability to get into and understand the detail but then step back and make considered, holistic judgements which can be communicated and illustrated succinctly and effectively.
Ability to interact with non-financial business partners is key i.e. Sales, Marketing, Operations etc interpreting complicated commercial positions/situations in clear articulate ways.
Help the business through potential operational systems changes and upgrades.

Principal Accountabilities

Help their business partners to establish robust budgets and forecasts.
Helping business partners to be accountable and responsible in delivering those budgets and forecasts.
Provide ad-hoc analysis and decision support for the business to enable it to cope with market and business changes.
Working with the Regional Finance team to develop controls and procedures to ensure that all key financial and operational issues are identified, communicated and captured on a timely basis.

Knowledge & Experience Required

Qualified accountant.
Be a self-starter and not be phased by having little previous infrastructure and process to rely on. Be able to work on own initiative with a minimum of supervision but maintaining a focus on teamwork.
Be commercially aware and possess strong numerical skills with a keen desire to question and challenge information to ensure high reliability.
Have an operational focus with experience and evidence of helping businesses deliver and monitor operational performance.
Possess well-developed analytical skills combined with the ability to present detailed information clearly and succinctly to Senior Management.
Be aware of importance of internal controls/committed to improving controls. Able to explain numbers in context of changes in environment.
Ability to work well in a team environment and with people from variety of disciplines and seniority.
Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
Advanced Excel skills would be a necessity including Lookup tables, 'if' statements, graph manipulation.
Be proactive and forward looking.
Tenacious and resilient with the ability to cope with a high workload and strict deadlines.
Able to work and deliver results in a fast moving and high-pressured environment with changing priorities.
