This role is for "Head of Private Events" and of course a large part of the role will be that of "Wedding Planner". It`s an exciting opportunity for an experienced Private Party Planner leader to join a prestigious organisation. My client is a leading events company with a venue portfolio comprised of award winning prestigious spaces and venues for events in London, help to produce a variety of celebrated events in the heart of the city!

The Head of Private Events / Wedding Planner is a client facing role, responsible for increasing and securing revenue through; venue sales, supplier commission and broad marketing to private clients, from initial enquiry through to event completion. Revenue will be maintained and increased through both a proactive and reactive manner. Previous experience managing staff would be preferable as The Wedding Planner will be responsible for a team of two Assistant Planners. Working closely with the Marketing Department, the Wedding Planner will manage a marketing budget to ensure the best possible exposure for the organisation, focusing on weddings and private events.

Head of Private Events / Wedding Planner Requirements;

- Proven sales track record
- Budgetary experience
- Management skills, understanding different strengths, weaknesses and abilities amongst the team
- Excellent communication skills, inc excellent telephone manner
- Excellent organisational skills, key attention to detail
- Thrives under pressure, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of an event
- Ability to liaise effectively with a wide range of suppliers and clients
- Outgoing confident personality, with adaptable approach to work
- Self-motivation, can-do attitude
- Smart, professional appearance
- Good knowledge of word, excel, CRM system

Head of Private Events / Wedding Planner Core duties include but are not limited to;

- Recruitment, induction and training
- Inspiring team to think in a positive, collaborative manner with a can-do attitude
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key clients and suppliers,
- Work closely with the Marketing team to develop relationships with influential marketing individuals.
- Managing a marketing budget.
- Management, knowledge and analysis of sales figures both as a whole and departmentally. Setting annual departmental targets and ensuring these targets are met through both a proactive and reactive approach
- Decision maker on negotiation limits within department to ensure maximum sales opportunity & revenue.
- Ensuring the Private Events Department sales and forecast documents are updated
- Overseeing and managing the upsell of the Project Management Service, ensuring that the team can deliver what is required to an expert level: produce quotes and detailed proposals for events (e.g. including timelines, floor plans, suppliers, and budgets)
- Prepare hire agreements and follow up bookings, managing this in a timely manner to ensure company deadlines and policies are being upheld.
- Communicating with Accounts Department to keep them informed of contract and payment statuses for all private events.
- Ensuring efficient diary management is being upheld for all Private Event holds
- Troubleshooting on the day of the event to ensure that all runs smoothly
