Our client is currently recruiting for 2 X Locum Team Managers to work for a Leaving Care Team Based in Kings Hill. You will need to be a qualified Social Worker and have previous Team Leader experience in a leaving care team. The position is initially for 3 months but could be extended.

Purpose of the Job:

Ensure that corporate and national outcomes are delivered and improved for Care Leavers transition into adulthood.

Lead and direct a team of professional Senior Personal Advisors and Advisors together with support staff to provide services to young people aged 18-24 years of age who have previously been looked after by the Local Authority. This includes citizen young people as well as unaccompanied Asylum seeking young people.

Contribute to the design and delivery of the unit business plans and to ensure that the service performance levels and budget requirements are met. The role will require the post holder to have a high level understanding of all relevant internal policies, an awareness of relevant legislation, and partnership working skills to assist the Assistant Area Director in the strategic development of ongoing service delivery.

Main duties and responsibilities:

*Develop, enhance and maintain effective liaison with internal and external partners, identifying new ways of working and identifying solutions that are locality specific. Work with a broad range of agencies, including the NHS, Police, Border Agency and other specialist agencies, ensuring positive outcomes for children are delivered.

*Develop and advise on commissioning strategies by providing an expert view to ensure services are developed and accessible to Care Leavers

*Allocate resources and workload across the team to ensure effective delivery of service within allocated cash limit, contributing to the preparation of the team budget. Take into account local and national priorities, demands on the service and compliance with Health and Safety policies and practices and other legislative requirements.

*Recruit, develop and motivate staff groups capable of fulfilling the changing demands of the service, through day to day support and providing for high quality caseload supervision to ensure the ongoing continuous development of staff (where relevant helping employees meet the requirements of their registration) in order to deliver a high quality and consistent service to the locality.

*Develop as appropriate, joint planning, development and delivery mechanisms with key partners in statutory agencies and the private and voluntary sector in order to maximise resources and promote joint working.

*Ensure safeguarding issues are paramount in working practices or services developments for locality young people.

*Contribute to the formulation, monitoring and review of professional practice procedures, strategy and policy through working closely with colleagues in other Divisions and/or via County Working Groups, to maintain high standards of social work practice which meets the changing needs of the service.

*Regularly Chair risk management meetings where serious issues of risk need to be considered or the demands of the service require.

*Monitor professional standards within the team in liaison with Senior Personal Advisors and Learning and Development to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, and ensure that performance indicators and other agreed targets are met.
