About Our Client
An exciting opportunity exists with my client, a well-recognised organisation with a national presence for a Finance Manager to head up their Accounts department.

Job Description
The post-holder is responsible for producing monthly accounts, undertaking variance analysis and implementing financial controls. Duties include:
• To oversee, mentor and support the finance team with responsibility for statutory transaction recording: Banking, Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, Fixed Assets and Payroll
• Preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts
• Preparation of annual accounts and returns
• To maintain and update the company purchase ledgers
• To undertake bank reconciliations
• Monthly returns and spreadsheets for outsourced payroll - to include audit checks on figures
• Ensure correct input of sales/purchase invoices onto Access , using relevant nominal codes
• Generate BACS and other payments (enter on Access Accounts)
• Create detailed monthly forecasts and commentary to ensure agreed business targets are achievable.
• Improve processes and work systems to increase reporting efficiencies.
• Translate detailed financial information into tangible business scenarios to enable stakeholders to make quicker and more accurate business decisions

Person Specification
• A fully qualified ACCA/AAT or equivalent. Management Accountant - 2 Years
• Good IT knowledge to include previous working experience of Access
• Experience of managing stakeholders across a group of businesses
• A commercially minded individual who is creative when negotiating mutually beneficial payment terms with difficult customers.
• Demonstrable experience of working as a finance manager or similar role
• Excellent analytical skills and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
