Deputy Boarding Manager - Independent School

Location: Cambridgeshire

Our client, an independent boarding school in Cambridgeshire, is looking for a suitable Deputy Boarding Manager to join their successful and thriving school.

The School:
The college is an established day and boarding school which caters for international sixth formers and is part of a wider group of independent schools with institutions spread throughout the UK. The college caters for local day students and full time international boarders between the ages of 14-21. The college has been graded outstanding in all areas at inspection.

The role:
The college currently require a Deputy Boarding Manager to manage this exceptional school's boarding houses. The appointed Deputy Boarding Manager will oversee a number of senior members of staff, who are individually responsible for the 4 boarding houses, and report directly to the Head of Boarding. There are roughly 300 male and female students on roll in the school. Across the boarding facilities the vast majority of ages represented are between 16-19 years old.

The candidate:
The successful candidate will be required to live on site in Cambridge and the school can provide rent-free accommodation as part of the package. The package will include free utilities, free on duty meals and a generous annual salary on a scale between GBP20,000 -GBP24,000 pa. The ideal candidate will be someone who has a passion for working with young people and will ideally already have experience as a senior member of a pastoral team in a boarding school. Applications from graduates are welcomed for entry level positions however this role does require an understanding of the UK national boarding standards which the school is inspected on and experience in a boarding school environment. An understanding of the pastoral issues surrounding student boarding is essential and ideally the successful candidate will have worked with international students in some capacity before.
