We are looking for a dedicated CSE Qualified Social Worker to support the Children and Families team in a local authority in Greater Manchester. To be successful for this role, you are required to have a minimum of 2 years recent Social Work experience of working with Children and Families. The role:

Our Social Workers need transport as they do joint visits with the police and usually have to use their own cars. This team cover the whole of the city.

The CSE Social Work post is an exciting and high profile role that is designed to ensure children and young people are prevented and protected from abuse working through a multi agency approach. You will be on the cutting edge of, and innovating practice, with CSE. This has the highest priority within the council and its multi agency partners, so this is a role where you can stand out and really make your mark as a leading professional. So we are looking for a experienced and confident Social Worker to join the Child Sexual Exploitation Team. The team is co-located with partners and is based at Greenheys Police Station in Moss Side Manchester.

The post holder will have a caseload of the most complex child sexual exploitation cases.

The role will involve undertaking statutory social work duties in cases where CSE is identified as a presenting risk. You will carry a caseload, work as part of a multi-disciplinary team focusing on assessments and investigations of children at risk of sexual exploitation and undertake/review risk assessments relating to CSE in order to demonstrate effective practice through good outcomes for children and young people. You will have proven experience of direct work with children and young people to ensure their engagement and meaningful involvement in safeguarding plans. Your role will involve building trust with young people to enable disclosures, supporting the police in prosecutions and preventing others from being sexually exploited.

The Social Workers on the team support in the development and deliver action learning sets to address priority service needs across services to ensure CSE is embedded in practice.

We require a Social Worker to work within a dedicated Child Sexual Exploitation team working with children at risk of or suffering harm through CSE. All candidates MUST have ;

- At least 3 years post qualifying experience
- CP /S47 investigation experience
- ABE Qualified /joint investigation training
- Experience and understanding of children suffering harm through CSE
- Basic CSE training
- Experience of undertaking direct work with children and Young People .
- Must be a car owner and driver with a clean full driving licence.
- It is essential to be able to work as part of a team and be able to work on own initiative
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Ability to work at a fast pace and under pressure
- Flexibility
- Relevant social work qualification, e.g. CQSW, CSS, DipSW, Nursing, OT qualification, NVQ 4 (Care), HNC (Social Care), or HNC Care Management
- You must be professionally registered with the HCPC, and eligible to work in the UK.
