The Role:

With the support of the Head of Finance you will manage the financial affairs of a portfolio of companies so as to optimize the value of investments, meet the IFRS & UK GAAP financial reporting requirements and comply with statutory and regulatory obligations.

You will be comfortable managing a small finance team of three and be able to support, motivate and inspire the leadership and development of the Finance team.

• Primarily for this Finance Manager position, you will focus on reviewing the financial and operational aspects with the Head of Finance and Finance team to optimise the balance of risk and return to shareholders;
• Secondary you will manage a small finance team responsible for all matters of the UK monthly reporting packs and adhoc information to shareholders; financial reporting systems and procedures; financial modelling; cash management; sales and purchase ledger accounting; financial aspects of insurance matters;
• You will be complete the conversion of UK GAAP accounts to IFRS and providing commentary for shareholder reporting; review management accounts and monitoring the activities and results of companies and their performance against budget;
• Support the Company Accountant on treasury issues, such as debt-draw downs, injections of funds by shareholders, banking arrangements and maximising deposit returns;
• Assist the Company Accountant with the compliance aspects of the corporation tax affairs of each Concession Company and liaison with external auditors;
• Review the draft statutory accounts of concession companies, produced by the Company Accountants, including the application and disclosure of technical accounting practices;
• Prepare and review annual budgets and periodic forecasts of concession companies including the application of technical accounting calculations;

The Individual:

• A relevant Degree;
• Be a Qualified chartered accountant in an appropriate qualification (ACA or ACCA);
• This may be a first move from Practice into Commerce & Industry or you may have already moved;
• You will be an excellent technical accountant with strong financial modelling experience;
• Capability of interpreting financial implications of complex contractual documentation;
• Be an effective communicator, comfortable and able to contribute at Board meetings;
• Be a strong team player, able to motivate, inspire and lead a small finance team;
• Ability to get things done, right first time, to tight timescales;
• Have excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of people
