Central London / North London Annabel Karmel is a leading food & lifestyle brand founded by the UK's No.1 Children's Cookery Author, trusted food expert, and entrepreneur Annabel Karmel MBE. Karmel Foods Limited Food business is fast expanding, selling Chilled, Frozen and Snacks to the major grocery retailers. Our major markets are the UK, Australia, Europe and Middle East. With rapid growth of the UK business among the major multiple retailers, we are now seeking an experienced Commercial Manager who has worked within the Food / FMCG sector to join our team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a flexible, down to earth, highly experienced and highly driven individual to contribute to a busy, fast-paced growing business as part of a small dynamic team. The Commercial Manager will be the driving force behind the company's short, medium and long-term strategic development in the UK market and will be responsible for ensuring the commercial success of the business through profitable growth of sales and margin. Your key accountabilities will be: - Account management of our current product portfolio within existing customers
- Negotiate and agree joint business plans with major customers
- Organise and attend customer and manufacturer meetings
- Identify new customer opportunities via gap analysis
- Gather market and customer information to identify NPD that fits with the company strategy
- Oversee fulfilment and delivery of orders to ensure industry leading customer service
- Set, agree and manage a twelve-month sales and expenditure budget
- Manage forecasting and stock levels of finished product sourced from multiple manufacturers
- Proactive member of the team, sharing best practice
- Taking a hands-on approach with daily contact with our manufacturers and customers You should demonstrate the following skills, knowledge and experience: - Strong hands-on track record of developing profitable sales with UK major multiple retailers
- Commercial experience in dealing with suppliers as well as customers
- Experience in analysing and interpreting market data e.g. Nielsen / Kantar
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- First-class negotiation skills
- High levels of literacy and numeracy
- Good analytical skills, able to demonstrate a balanced well-reasoned approach to problem solving
- Able to work independently and part of a team We require a solid academic background, extensive proven experience in a senior Sales / Commercial role in an FMCG environment, preferably the food sector, with brand experience and proven results in a challenging customer driven role. As the role will involve working as part of a small highly-motivated team, there is no sales support function. Therefore, the business is looking for someone who is entrepreneurial, aspiring to work for a small, lean business where you can genuinely influence the direction and profitability of the company.
