SEN Teacher| Autism Specialist | Manchester

Are you passionate about working with young people with Special Educational Needs and experienced teaching children with Autism? As an enthusiastic Teacher do you want to use your understanding and compassion to support students with ASD in a special school?

This is the ideal opportunity for an experienced SEN Teacher to join a special school in Manchester, initially on a temporary basis for 1 year.

This SEN Teacher position is ideal for an experienced practitioner as an Autism specialist to teach small groups of young people across the Autistic Spectrum in a rewarding school setting. You will be required to plan and deliver engaging lessons and adapt activities to suit individulas needs and abilities. A broad knowledge of the curriculum and strong behaviour management would be beneficial.

This special school was graded 'good' by Ofsted and caters for about 150 pupils aged 4 to 19 with a range of SEN, specifically Autism and Asperger's Syndrome. They aim to help all students to reach their potential and value success.Other services are provided including speech, occupational and music therapy.

To join the QT team and be successful in this SEN Teacher role you will need to have:

* QTS or equivelant qualification that allows you to teach in primary schools
* Experience and understanding of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
* The ability to build and develop positive relationships with staff and students
* A flexible and patient approach when working with young people
* Strong behaviour management
* Excellent communication skills
