About the role:

As the Capital Finance Officer, you will provide support to the Capital Accountant and Management Accountant of assets to ensure delivery of comprehensive and professional capital finance function to Great Places Housing Group. You will ensure the Group`s property asset database system is updated with all additions, disposals and other transactions from the Group`s financial accounting system monthly and reconciliations of both systems are completed on time.

The Capital Finance Officer will post the monthly depreciation and amortisation charges using Real Asset Management system data (RAM), and create the relevant transactions in the financial accounting system. You will liaise with the Development team to obtain information on components for development scheme handovers to accurately record transfers into management.

Furthermore, you will assist in the delivery of all RAM projects to ensure that the data held is of the highest quality and review the information on component replacements to ensure the Group`s annual GBP15M investment program is fit for purpose. You will assist the Management Accountant of Assets in ensuring that the Group`s annual GBP15M investment programme is correctly recorded and accounted for and that accurate and timely management reports are made available to the senior management team.

In addition to this you will ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Financial Reporting Standard 102 (FRS 102) and the Housing Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP).

About You:

Knowledge of double entry book keeping is essential for the role. Previous experience of working with Microsoft Office and to strict deadlines would be beneficial.

You may have previous experience of working with computerised accounting systems and be AAT Qualified / Part Qualified, however, this is not essential. You will have at least 5 GCSE`s Grade A - C or equivalent one of which should be mathematics

Knowledge of the housing sector and different types of property sales is advantageous as well as experience of cash flows.
