Salary range: GBP24,876 - GBP42,991 depending on skills and experience
Junior Release Engineer (EO) = GBP24,876 - GBP25,965
Senior Release Engineer (SEO) = GBP37,428 - GBP42,991
These roles may also attract a DigiTec allowance of up to GBP10k depending on skills and experience.
Join the DVLA as a Software Release Engineer, and you'll help build world class digital services, as part of the transformation programme that's migrating Legacy technology onto new, cloud-based platforms.
As a Software Release Engineer, you'll follow and contribute to the development of documented application release and deployment processes - ensuring that all changes are deployed into DVLA IT environments in the least disruptive manner. This will include developing configuration management standards, policies, procedures, work instructions, scripts and tools.
Your role will also involve adhering to best practise in software configuration management; monitoring technology performance; and identifying opportunities to improve performance - facilitating large and small changes alongside the development community.
We're looking for Software Release Engineers who have experience in establishing, governing and running software configuration principles and practices; generating software builds; and deploying releases in complex controlled environments. You'll have experience in application life cycle development within an enterprise environment, as well as experiencing using software configuration management and software build tooling. You'll also be available to understand out of hours activities, to support release deployments.
